So I had the opportunity to watch the DVD that is going to come with the special edition of Resurrection last night. I am blown away by the work Todd and Nick did on this thing. We didn't set out to make a sequel to the Dehumanizing Process, but it's pretty much what happened... in a sense. There is no live footage because we are not on tour yet! The movie runs a little over an hour in length and is packed with....laughs.....yes i said laughs. It's almost a comedy. It reflects who we are now though, and that's 6 happy dudes stoked to be playing together again and making the music we are making. I highly suggest if you are fan of the first DVD to pick up the special edition because you truly won't be disappointed. We re-grouped after the holiday break (sans chris and i) to start rehearsing for the upcoming No Fear tour. It will be killer to team up with our dudes in KSE again. Haven't shared the stage with them in almost 3 years, so that will be nice. More importantly though, we get to finally get back out and play for all of you dudes again. Stoked. Rant over.... 12.19.06 Chimaira: No Fear Tour No Fear Tour 2007 - In February we hit the road with Killswitch Engage, Dragonforce, and He is Legend. We're beyond excited to be touring with our KSE pals once again. Hope to see you guys out at the gigs. This dude has skillz. Thanks Tim! 06.30.06 - Hey All! As the summer is heating up Fool's Crown has a few announcements. MKS Studios is currently in the mastering process so we are getting closer to releasing new music. We have Fool's Crown stickers available at shows and on the street for the low, low price of free! But you have to say please. Also we have two shows coming up! On Friday July 14th Lumberjack Death Squad has asked to join them at Club Panama in Springfield. Then on Friday, August 4th we will be performing at The Billiard Club /Pub 161. Please check the SHOWS page for details and directions. 06.26.06 Latest entries from Chimaira Studio Update 001 In February me, Matt [DeVries, guitar] and Rob [Arnold, guitar] wrote a few songs while we were on break and we recorded them into ProTools and emailed them to each other. We were really stoked on the songs back then but we thought that it's been so long, maybe we are all in a different headspace and those songs don't represent us anymore. So for the first day of writing as a band we decided to start with all new ideas... Monday Rob played a riff that was kind of left-field for us. We all went with it and spent all night working on it. It didn't seem like Matt or Andols [Herrick, drums] were into it at all...then dinner afterwords they expressed pure hatred for it...I think I hear some potential in it, but good luck getting those two to work on it again! So Tuesday started with a fresh mind and after we rocked the old February tapes and heard some pretty killer stuff, we decided to go back and explore the demos we worked on. The first track was full of riffs Matt wrote and it's pretty goddamn heavy. We all worked on it together and made it so fucking badass I can't wait to start working on it with vocals. The difference from the demo is night and day and everyone contributed to the song, which is pretty rare for us this early in the game. We spent Wednesday tightening up the new jam and started working on another. This time it was one of Rob's jams from February. We wound up tightening this song up on Thursday. So far this song has my favorite CHIMAIRA riff ever in it. I fucking love this one. We didn't change much from the original version he wrote so it went pretty quick getting it all together. Andols and I have jokingly named this song 'Lucifer's Beard' as it is one of the most complex and tough songs for him to play. Friday was spent tightening up 'Lucifer's Beard' and then we started working on another one of Rob's songs from the February sessions. This one is a slower song for us, but pretty heavy. It needs some work still and it needs to be played a lot tighter before i am 100. -MH 04.12.06 Chimaira and Roadrunner Records Mutually Part Ways From Chris of Chimaira: "Before the rumor mill starts going at full force, we wanted to let you know that we have amicably parted ways with Roadrunner Records. We asked to be let out of the contract and they graciously agreed to our request. We (Chimaira and Roadrunner) had not been seeing eye to eye on some key issues and came to a mutual agreement to end our relationship - and we are leaving on good terms with everyone there. Bands change labels all the time, but in this day and age everyone on the internet is an industry expert and will come up with their own theories as to what happened. There is nothing more going on than what we already stated. Having said that, we are sure some of you message board hounds will still take it upon yourselves to make up your own reasons of why we are not signed anymore, or your general opinion of us so have at it." 04.05.06 Fool's Crown Settles on New Vocalist From Laura of Fool's Crown: "Fool's Crown version 2.0! Fool's Crown officially has a new vocalist! We just joined forces with Keith Lucas formally from Splitt, Bone Dust and Anger Nation! We should be ready to play out again by May and hopefully finishing up recording in the very near future as well. We are happy as hell to have Keith and we are looking forward to taking FC in positive, new direction! Fool's Crown has now booked our first show with Keith! We will be unavailing the new material on 5-19-06 at the Hot Spot. Our friends Further Lo and The C.O.A.S.T will be joining us for a night of unrelenting metal. " |
